Sharon Koonce

Sharon Koonce serves in the role of President for the Ashley Fendley Foundation.  During her 44-year career with Houston ISD, she filled the roles of teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent of professional development.  In each one of those roles, she was known for the leadership she demonstrated in support of strategies and programs that were designed to meet the needs of all learners– both students and adults. She has been a close friend of Ashely’s family for many years and is deeply committed to the mission and purpose of the Foundation.  One of the joys of her life was watching Ashley grow from a precious little girl to a very bright, caring individual.
